Welcome!

Welcome to Tech South East’s new blog!
The great Vince Lombardi once said "the measure of who we are is what we do with what we have".  This is very much the philosophy that has guided Tech South East’s journey.  From our earliest discussions as a group of industry and stakeholder leaders in the Moncton region to today as we move into our second full year of operations

Tech South East’s modus operandi is how to do more and better with what we have in our region. From working with and supporting the many dynamic companies and entrepreneurs whose great ideas and great ambitions drive our innovative economy. To engaging our region’s post-secondary institutions, research institutes and government partners at all levels. It is all about building and promoting a strong environment of collaboration in our region, and beyond.

Recently Tech South East was thrilled to host the legendary technology author and global thought leader Geoffrey Moore. His seminal book Crossing the Chasm highlights the importance of reaching the visionaries, and then the early adopters. In hindsight it's very interesting to reflect on our start with a group of leaders determined to make a difference: Tech South East's visionaries and champions.  They are community and industry leaders many of whom now serve on our Board of Directors and many more who have been instrumental along the way.

Then there are the early adopters.  The member companies, institutional partners, and all three levels of government who support the vision. Building on this support, Tech South East now has some 80 member companies and partners, and a growing network of partner organizations and affiliates here in New Brunswick, across Canada, and around the world.

But first and foremost, it’s about the exciting companies and talented tech entrepreneurs that we get to work with ... it makes coming to work every day a lot of fun!  Just last month, I had the privilege of joining three of these companies at the annual KIRA awards in Fredericton.  Congratulations to Lymbix, Vinvox, and Gogii Games (winner in the export market category), and of course to all the nominees, finalists and winners at KIRA this year.

Tech South East is proud to be part of the growing success story that is our region’s innovative economy.  The Tech South East team ... myself, Barbara Ells and Sally Ng, are dedicated to working with all our partners to deliver the highest quality services to our member companies.  We will continue to do our part in the important and exciting work of accelerating innovation-based entrepreneurship and economic growth in south east New Brunswick, and the province as a whole.

And one final note … you can now be a fan of Tech South East on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and connect with us on LinkedIn. Stay tuned for more coming soon!

Thank you,
Doug Robertson
